FERRITIC STAINLESS STEEL / TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
The chromium content is or so 12% ~ 30%, its corrosion resistance, toughness and weldability improve along with the increase of chromium content. Chloridum stress corrosion resistance is superior to other types of stainless steels. Corrosion resistance and oxidatio resistance of ferritic stainless steel are pretty well due to its high chromium content, but possess lower mechanical property and processing property. they are widely used in lower stress acidproof structure and oxidation resistant steels, which can resist the corrosion from atmosphere, nitric acid, and saline solution, and also possess excellent property of high temperature oxidation resistance, lower coefficient of thermal expansion. are used in the application of nitric acid and foodstuffs factory equipments, mechanical components at high working temperature, such as mechanical parts for combustion gas turbine.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The alloy is usually produced by AOD / VOD /VIM followed by electroslag refining (ESR) / VAR if necessary for special purpose.
Bars and, where applicable, forgings are subjected to ultrasonic examination based on the different levels according to the buyers' requirements.
Bars are usually supplied black/bright in the annealed condition.
Final heat treatment - solution treatment / QT
HEAT TREATMENT PRACTICE
Heat treatment is only suitable for specific grades of
stainless steel. When heat treating a stainless the hardening temperatures, including rate of heating, cooling and soaking times will vary due to several factors such as the shape and size of each component. Other considerations during the heat treatment process include the type of furnace, quenching medium and work piece transfer facilities. Please consult with the heat treatment provider for whole guidance on heat treatment of stainless steel grades. We are delighted to help to work with you the special heat treatment based on your special requirements.
