PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AMS 5506 is usually produced by EAF + AOD followed by electroslag refining (ESR) / VAR if necessary for special purpose. Bars and, where applicable, forgings are subjected to ultrasonic examination based on the different levels according to the buyers' requirements.
Bars are usually supplied bright condition.
Final heat treatment - heated to 996°C+6, held at heatfor 25 minutes +2, and cooled in air.
