2nd Tempered: 538-560° C for 3 hours min followed by air cool
Annealed: 691° C (+/-11) for 6 hours min followed by air cool
Hardened:1052° C (+/-) for 30 mins followed by oil quench
1st Tempered: 560-590° C for 1 hour min followed by air cool
2nd Tempered: 538-560° C for 3 hours min followed by air cool
MELTING PROCESS
The alloy is usually produced by BEF + AOD / EAF, followed by electroslag refining (ESR or VAR ) if necessary for special purpose.
